Wow. What a year it has been. While the lead-up to the 75th season of the Daytona Beach Quarterback Club certainly isn’t at all what I, or anyone else, expected, the good news is we are officially on track for a 100% “normal” season! It’s an honor to lead this Club – especially in the year that we commemorate three quarter-centuries of the Club’s existence.

At this point, all of the things we love about the Club are planned to return for 2021. We’ll have some safety measures in place related to COVID, but by and large, we expect things to be business as usual.

The Club is in great financial health heading into the season, but membership is the lifeblood of the club, and a successful season is dependent upon your continued support. If you haven’t already, we ask that you renew early as we try to establish an accurate estimate for meal counts; and if there was ever a time to talk a friend into finally joining the Quarterback Club, this is it!

Separate handouts in this mailer highlight our exciting speaker lineup for the season, along with renewal details and instructions if you have not yet renewed your membership for 2021. There is a discount opportunity for early renewals done online, as we try to move further into utilizing our Wild Apricot membership platform.

Some of the planned changes/updates for the 2021 season will include:

  • COVID-19 Measures: we have moved the “bye” week to the front of the season and scheduled our first meeting for September 20, to hopefully allow for additional time for the current COVID-19 surge to somewhat subside. The Plaza also plans to help us offer a “socially distanced” seating option through the use of some distanced 4-top and/or 6-top tables in addition to the usual 8-tops for the majority of seating.
  • AUDIO IMPROVEMENTS: in addition to hopefully ensuring proper audio levels, we plan to reserve seating closer to the speakers to better accommodate those with trouble hearing the meeting.

To ensure you are up to date on communications throughout the season, we recommend you do the following:

Should you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out and e-mail me personally at

Looking forward to seeing you at the Plaza Resort & Spa for our first meeting on Monday, September 20!

2021 Captain
